A Day of Firsts…

I had a LOT of firsts today!

Let us go through the list…

Eating at Tommy’s. Pretty yummy! All covered in Chili, though, good thing I wore black.

A huge first – shooting in complete AUTO! I have realized that I don’t often take my camera out because I want to enjoy my time rather than worrying about great shots. Well – why not worry about having fun and still getting fun shots? I would much rather have snapshots than nothing at all. And when looking back at my photos over the last few years I realized I was in SO few of them. That needs to change.

One first I had the opportunity to meet a great friend I have known online for quite some time. She was in from Alabama and we wanted to meet and they wanted to go to Hollywood for touristy stuff.

Which leads to another first- we went to do touristy stuff in Hollywood. Seriously, did you know in the 23 years I have lived in So Cal I have NEVER been to Hollywood Blvd? Strange, I know!

You’re probably wondering why I had paid for this photo, but I just couldn’t help NOT getting a photo with the tin man. How cool is he? And did you know he is an aspiring paparazzi shooter? Apparently he like, hit Lindsay Lohan’s car or something. I wasn’t really clear on that.

There’s no comparison to The Terminator.

What in the world is this? I dunno! An alien with a two headed baby! And he works for tips? What in the world does he DO for those tips? I am not sure and was too scared to ask. So I snapped this and ran.

Then we went to the Disney Soda fountain place. Here’s a shot of some ice cream. My friend’s husband shoots Nikon, you can see his handy camera in the corner. We liked him anyway.

Why were we so happy here, you ask? Because we saw a bunch of cool kids from High School Musical! Serious, I do not lie. I am not posting photos, but the friend’s hubby with the Nikon got some great shots by lining up and then saying things like “Look over here!” and acting like he was supposed to be there. It was great.
(Looked them up on IMDB, btw – they were Chris Warren JR, Olesya Rulin, Ryne Sanborn, and Kaycee Stroh. 99% sure, anyway.)

Crystal and Dominic, sittin’ in a tree…

Crystal and I went to school together from elementary school to high school, we were never really close friends but we were always friendly. She’s one of the nicest people I know!
Dominic and I shared Calculus class together in high school (insert nerdy joke here).
This was a very fun session, hanging out with two great people and having fun taking photos.
They are really great people who clearly love each other very much. Seriously – look at them, can’t you just FEEL the love?

They got engaged earlier this year and will be getting married in a few short months!

Two Weimaraners and a Gargoyle

Today I had the chance to photograph a family of three dogs… two Weims and a French Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix. They lovingly call him a Gargoyle, and I gotta say – I kinda agree.

Dexter the Gargoyle

Morgan the girly girl

Gus, the boy who didn’t want his photo taken! He must have thought when he closed his eyes the camera disappeared. HA I fooled him!

It’s a handsome beagle boy!

Driving home from dog agility the other night, a silly beagle runs in front of our car. Well, maybe it was a smart thing to do because anyone who knows Chris and I knows that we stop for all dogs. So while June Bug and Ninja were buckled in the back, Chris and I went on a hunt. It didn’t take long, and we had a beagle in our hands.

If anyone knows who this dog belongs to, please have them contact me. Although I have posted Found Ads everywhere known to man, so if they haven’t seen them yet, the owners probably aren’t looking.

If his owners don’t come forward, we will be getting him neutered (he’s cute, but we don’t need any more puppies!) and hopefully finding him a forever home that will love him! If you are interested, please contact me for details.
