Nicaragua

January 6 – 12, 2013 – A group of no more than 8 women will travel Nicaragua to work alongside Empowerment International – a nonprofit that focuses on working with children from the slums of the Granada area.
I will be offering participants individual portfolio reviews, and we will do group editing sessions. You will be challenged in your photography as much as you are open to being challenged.
Our goal when working with the children & charity will be two fold:
1 – We will work with the children in the photography program through EI – helping them work on their portrait skills, learning and understanding light, and then helping them to edit their images.
2 – We will be documenting the lives of the children & the families that EI works with.
You need not be a professional photographer to join! If you love photography, you’re welcome to come!
The cost is $1800 and includes the following:
* A shared room at a clean hotel in Granada, Nicaragua
* All meals – breakfast/lunch/dinner
* All ground transportation – including to and from the airport
* All entry fees or costs associated with scheduled outings
* A sizable donation to EI (a 501c3 organization)
This does NOT include airfare, snacks, or souvenirs.
When you apply, you will be contacted for a brief interview. Once you’ve been accepted to the trip, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. The remainder of the trip cost will be due 30 days before the trip begins.
You may fund raise for this trip once accepted, and a portion of your expenses can be written off as a charitable donation.
